The surgeon and the clinic

Nineteen years, one specialty,
a license number you can verify.

Dr. Alejandro Leal is a board-certified plastic surgeon in Guadalajara. Below is the record itself — certification, years, the technique he developed, and the four units he built around the operating room — so you can check it rather than take it on trust.

The person who will actually operate on you

In many clinics you meet a coordinator, then a consultant, and finally the surgeon on the morning of the operation. Here the person who assesses you is the person who operates and the person who follows you afterwards, including remotely once you have flown home.

He is a board-certified plastic surgeon with nineteen years in practice and a Mexican specialty license registered with the SEP. That registration is not decoration: the register is public and the number is at the foot of this page, so you can check it, here and at any other clinic you are considering. If a surgeon will not give you theirs, you have learned something.

In November 2005 he developed his own arm suspension technique, which he still uses today in arm procedures. Publishing when a technique was developed and not just that it exists is deliberate — it is a claim with a date on it.

He is a K-Laser Blue speaker for Mexico and Latin America, which means he trains other physicians in the technology, and it is one of the reasons the clinic can say honestly that a patient does not always need surgery.

How this clinic works

Four commitments, and what each one costs us

Any clinic can list values. These are the ones that cost something to keep, which is the only reason they are worth publishing.

We say no

To surgery on someone whose weight is still moving, to a volume that is not safe, to a combination that would push operating time past what is sensible, and to a patient expecting an operation to fix something an operation does not fix. Each of those is a booking we do not take. It is also the difference between a surgeon and a shop.

We publish the risks

Including the one nobody advertises: the BBL carries the highest documented mortality in aesthetic surgery, reported between about 1 in 3,000 and 1 in 15,000. We would rather you read that on our own page than find it somewhere else after you have paid a deposit.

One number, in writing

A closed quote in Mexican pesos after your assessment, itemised, with a separate list of what it does not include. No figure quoted over a message before anyone has examined you, because that figure would be a guess dressed as a price.

The same surgeon afterwards

Follow-up is part of the operation, not an aftercare product. For patients who fly home, that means remote reviews scheduled in your time zone for as long as your recovery needs them, with your written operative report in your hands from the day you leave.

The clinic

Four units under one roof

The reason they exist together is simple: a clinic that only has an operating room tends to find that everyone needs surgery. With four routes available, "you do not need an operation" is an answer that can actually be given.

In his own words

Watch him explain it before you meet him

These are recorded in Spanish. They are here anyway, because how a surgeon talks about risk when nobody is buying tells you more than any biography.

Do not take our word for it

How to check a plastic surgeon in Mexico

Use this on us and on everyone else you are considering. It takes fifteen minutes and it is the highest-value fifteen minutes in this entire process.

Verify

  • The specialty license number, printed at the foot of this page, in Mexico’s public professional register
  • That the specialty is plastic surgery, not a general medical license
  • That the operating room is accredited, and which hospital they transfer to
  • That a titled anesthesiologist is present for the whole procedure
  • How many of your specific operation the surgeon performs each year

Be wary of

  • A firm price given before anyone has examined you
  • A guaranteed result — no honest surgeon offers one
  • A conversation in which risks never come up
  • Pressure to leave a deposit today
  • Agreement to any size or volume you ask for
  • Reluctance to name the anesthesiologist or the facility

About the clinic

Questions people ask before booking

Will Dr. Leal be the one operating on me?
Yes. The surgeon who assesses you is the surgeon who operates and the one who follows your recovery. If any part of your care involves another physician — the anesthesiologist always does — you are told who and why before the day.
Where does the surgery take place?
In an accredited operating room with monitoring, resuscitation equipment and a recovery area, with a titled anesthesiologist present throughout. You are told which facility, and which hospital you would be transferred to in an emergency, before you sign anything.
Can consultations be in English?
Yes. Say so when you book and it is arranged for the video call and for your visits in Guadalajara, along with your written quote and post-operative instructions in English.
Where do I see before and after photographs?
In consultation, with the surgeon beside you. Dr. Leal shows you real cases from his clinical archive, chosen because their starting point resembles yours — body, age, skin quality — which is the comparison that actually informs your decision. Every image is shown with the signed consent of the person in it and stays inside the consulting room: in this practice, a patient's body is never published on the internet, a discretion that will protect your own photographs one day. Mexican health-advertising regulation points the same way, and the clinic follows it to the letter.
How many patients travel here from abroad?
Enough that the process is built for it rather than improvised: consultations scheduled in your time zone, a written quote before you buy a flight, and remote follow-up afterwards. Patients have traveled to this clinic from as far as the United Kingdom, seven hours ahead.
What if the honest answer is that I do not need surgery?
Then that is what you are told, and the K-Laser room and the Longevity Hub exist so it is a useful answer rather than a dead end. Some patients are advised to wait, lose weight first, or treat something non-surgically. A consultation that ends in "not yet" is a consultation that worked.
